The 10-33 Foundation was founded on the recognition of the unique stresses faced by the first responder professions and the toll those stresses take on the individual as well as their families--both short and long term.
From a broad perspective, our services can be divided into Proactive Services to deal with awareness, management, and mitigation of the stresses unique to first responders and Critical Incident Services to deal with the aftermath of a particular event or events.
The goals for proactive services revolve around stress and its management: identifying it and its sources, its signs and symptoms, management & stress reduction skills, and coping skills for use following traumatic events. The core aspect of our Proactive Services is referred to as SAMM training (Stress Awareness, Management, and Mitigation) with four versions of this training for:

The goals of our intervention services are to help mitigate and manage the aftermath of high stress or traumatic events and can be either symptom or event-driven. These services are referred to as Critical Incident Stress Management Services and there are several versions based on the number of people involved and the timing of the incident (hours, days, or weeks) in addition to Chaplain services for individuals.
